In January 2013, the realism of London's gang culture came knocking at my door when 16 year old Hani Abou El Kheir was stabbed to death outside the flats on my estate by a mob of at least 10 people, 4 men have been charged with his murder. I didn't know Hani, only by face to say hello to, but I couldn't sit back and let another young person die without doing something about it.
"Stop The Violence", we all know the movement that started back in 1989 by KRS1 to stop violence in Hip-Hop and African American communities. Well the same message rings out even louder today Worldwide to everyone, "Stop The Violence On Our Streets". Sadly I heard of another teenager who was stabbed yesterday, not 5 minutes away from where Hani was killed, directly outside a school in broad daylight.
Gangs, guns and knives have no place on our streets. Unless we all take a stand the problem will only get worse. The youth need opportunities... they need to be skool'd in the rights and wrongs in life and what part they can play in our communities to make it a better place for everyone to live. Not just left to their own devices to walk the streets and find time to cause trouble out of boredom. Lack of places to go, lack of positive things to do, lack of focus will only lead to the same negative endings in society.
I came up with the idea to remix a track with all sales going to XLP "The eXceL Project" a charity at the cutting edge of urban youth work in the UK.

I asked my Universal Zulu Nation brother Donald D (Bronx Rhyme Syndicate, The BBoys) if he would come and drop some knowledge on the track to which he agreed, "the song needs to be heard so some of this violence stops". Donald's sadly lost 3 friends in the space of 2 weeks this month - my thoughts and prayers are with you at this time.

As a proud member of the Universal Zulu Nation family this is what we stand for:
KNOWLEDGE, WISDOM, UNDERSTANDING, FREEDOM, JUSTICE, EQUALITY, PEACE, UNITY, LOVE, RESPECT, WORK, FUN, OVERCOMING THE NEGATIVE TO THE POSITIVE, ECONOMICS, MATHEMATICS, SCIENCE, LIFE, TRUTH, FACTS, FAITH, AND THE ONENESS OF GOD.
Many thanks to all who helped me get this off the ground; respect to my Analog Knight brotherz, the legend Donald D for his rhyme, Funkiipapa for the remix, DJ Demon for the cuts, David Brant Vybrant Images for the video, Chock for the Graff, Lee Bolton for the additional filming, my Mrs Liz Sutherland for the endless support plus everyone who is keeping the Hip-Hop world alive with the realness and power to help.

"Chill - Playing Games featuring Donald D (Sik Boyz Remix)" will be on sale shortly from all main digital outlets.
To my UZN Hip-Hop Family Worldwide I Salute You on this our 40th year.
And to all our fallen friends, family, soldiers and comrades - you will always be with us, in mind and spirit. Until we meet again...R.I.P.

Peace out
